Development Pattern
Draft
The planning of the patterns are done in this stage where all the measurements and specifications were incorporated.
The draft should have all the shapes without seam allowances and all the seams should be walked and trued at this stage to ensure smooth production.
Digital drafting is guaranteed more precise than paper patterns without spending extra time and that is where quality is.
Pattern Pieces
Pattern pieces are directly traced out from the draft and seam allowances are added at this stage. In computer, mightering seam corners is made easy and it is in some cases crucial for mass production sewing process.
If pattern adjustments are needed after fitting, some minor changes can be done in the draft and the software will automatically reflect the changes in the pattern pieces. There is no need to re-trace out pieces and re-add seam allowances.
